The
luminettes (my version of night lights) and wall sconces start
out as drawings... pastel, colored pencil, and watercolor crayon
on paper. The drawings are photographed and transformed into
color transparencies, which are then set into handsome metal
frames.
The
luminettes are tiny works of art which cast a warm and useful
glow. They come in frames of hand-textured and patinaed copper
with a 4 watt bulb, ready to plug in. A hand-hammered copper
swirl dangle is an optional embelishment to the luminettes,
hanging off the middle hole at the bottom of the luminette frame,
disguising the night light switch and mirroring the etched swirl
at the top of each frame.
