Jesse Ahrendsen
Jesse Ahrendsen is an emerging Iowa artist who has been blowing glass since 2004. His training included an apprenticeship at the well-known Bogenrief Studios in northwest Iowa as well as studies at Kirkwood Community College, where he works in the glass studio. Ahrendsen displays an aptitude for glass that is exciting for someone so new to the field. He strives to combine elegant forms with complicated techniques. Commissions include a 60-piece hanging glass sculpture at Kirkwood Jones County Regional Center, and a 40-piece hanging sculpture in the restaurant at Kirkwood Community College, as well as lighting fixtures in Quinton’s Deli and private collections in the United States, Australia and Italy. His work was included in two Glass Art Society’s Student Shows.
