Roberta Williams

Robert Williams received her B.A. in Art from the University of Iowa in 1982. After several years as a graphic designer, she turned towards painting. Williams studied painting and muraling in class in Italy, which furthered her decorative painting business. She also studied with a master landscape pastel artist. Her extensive experience and skill level allow her to produce a wide range of subject matter and painting styles in a variety of mediums, including fresco-like religious paintings, realistic Iowa landscapes in pastel, playful watercolor batiks, and many classic decorative finishes.

Roberta has worked in private homes, businesses, museum exhibits, as well as renovation projects for the University of Iowa. (Her faux-marble finish was used on columns in Schaeffer and MacBride Halls.) Her work has been published in several magazines. In 2000, she was accepted by jury to the Iowa Arts Council Roster as an approved artist for public work. She is a resident of Spirit Lake, Iowa.
